The Quays - SieMatic SL404 Contract Project

CLIENT: Leeds, West Yorkshire.
SPEC: SieMatic Kitchen
DESIGNER: Will Vaughan-Payne

My Client came to me with a very specific brief as he intended to use one of the appartments as a weekday crash pad and the other to be rented out as a similar business let.
My client had high standards for quality and design but with a firm budget for each appartment. With a traditional family home in Wiltshire he wanted the appartments to be contemporary but comfortable. His requirements were simple in terms of appliances, as the kitchen was likely to be used for only a light evening meal and breakfast. Rentablility and re-sell value were key to his strategy.

Whilst the kitchen area was relatively small on a raised step and open plan to the living space, my client wanted me to incorporate some interest and improve the flow of the space. The handle-free units in an ivory gloss laminate finish were combined with a reflective glass splash-back to the sink area and to the top of the cupboard recesses. Silestone quartz worktops were selected to bring a richness and durability to the scheme. A bespoke walnut table, attached to the back of the peninsula units, bought warmth and co-ordination with the existing wooden floor. This table could accommodate four people seated if necessary and was also a work area with power socket located under the table for a laptop. The scheme was bought together with matt porcelain floor tiles and a Fired Earth modern emulsion colour scheme that flowed throughout the apartment.

Quality branded products were used to provide true value and reliability
